PRO WRESTLING LEAGUE SEASON 3 FROM JANUARY 2018

The third season of Pro Wrestling League (PWL) commences in the first week of January 2018. The new dimension added to its fervor is Olympic style Greco Roman Wrestling, in addition to current form of Freestyle Wrestling, a format that would add rich annals to the Indian Wrestling hall of fame. Creating a well packaged televised experience for the third consecutive season laced with acclaimed players, technical broadcasting wizardry and more innovations are expected in the third season of the Pro Wrestling League from January 2018. The tournament has garnered International attention, with innovations like toss and blocking, neon clothing and converting the individual sport of wrestling into a team sport with round robin format, 2 semi-finals and a grand finale.

Congratulating on the announcement of PWL season 3, Sh. Brijbhushan Sharan Singh, President, Wrestling Federation of India said “Greco Roman style of Wrestling was introduced in first Summer Olympics of 1896 and India has a rich past at the International level with first significant performance (Gold medal) at 1962, Jakarta Asian Games. Therefore, the inclusion of Olympic style Greco Roman format is a historic move that will offer International exposure to the wrestlers in addition to existing Freestyle Wrestling in the league. This will also take the level of Greco Roman category a notch above”.

While speaking on the historic move Mr. Kartikeya Sharma, Founder & Promoter, ProSportify, added “We have been successful in our endeavor to grow the game of Wrestling not only at the commercial level but also at the sporting landscape of Wrestling. Our fans are captivated by the presence of Olympic medalists and World champions taking on the Indian superstars. The expansion of the game will definitely benefit the entire ecosystem of Wrestling that will be reflected in the future medal tally of India”. In the precursor, the richest league in the world witnessed 36 power packed ties resulting to 2461 points with a leading point score of 38 points (Bengaluru Vs Punjab) in a single bout. In the previous two successful editions of Pro Wresting League has witnessed a total of 30 Olympians amidst 11 Rio Olympic medalists, 16 medalists of World Champion and 7 Continental Games champions, the auction pool made the league a super hit platform across the Wrestling fraternity and fans in five continents. The innovative conceptualization of Pro Wrestling League was recently applauded and endorsed by the President of United World Wrestling. According to him ProSportify in association with Wrestling Federation of India has created the much needed and rewarding platform for International players across all categories.

After an overwhelming response from fans & players, PWL stage is all set to host a bigger congregation of players from worldwide as more than 200 International players have expressed intent for the third season apart from the extensive list of 300 players (Indian & International) that is currently being scrutinized by ProSportify and Wrestling Federation of India to carve out the best teams with top players. While top players are already eyeing for the third season, Indian & International players are all set to battle it out even harder on the mats of PWL as the third season acts as the fitting precursor to Commonwealth Games & Asian Games 2018.
